Creating your OPT-o-MON account

OPT-o-MON accounts are by invitation: the operator adds your email address first, and only an invited address can create an account.

Steps

1. Create your account at Create account with your invited email address and a password. If the password misses a rule, the page lists which one. Creating the account signs you in.
2. Name your workspace. Your positions, alerts and flight plans belong to it.
3. Set up your vault. Choose a passphrase of at least 12 characters. It encrypts your broker credentials in your browser before they are stored, so the server never keeps a readable copy. If you lose the passphrase, the stored credentials cannot be recovered; you would connect TastyTrade again.
4. You land on Settings → Security, where you connect TastyTrade.

Each time you sign in

Sign in at Sign in with your email and password. Your vault key is kept only in the open browser tab, never stored, so after you sign in again (or reload the page) Settings → Security says the vault is locked: choose Unlock your vault and enter your passphrase.

Optional: an authenticator code at sign-in

Under Settings → Security → Two-factor authentication (TOTP) you can add an authenticator app. After that, every sign-in asks for its 6-digit code after your password. A mistyped code can simply be typed again; after five wrong codes, or five minutes, you start the sign-in again.
